What does Twitter advertising cost?

If you are thinking of using the Twitter advertising platform for your business then the first thing you need to do is figure out what your purpose for advertising is going to be? Are you trying to increase traffic to your website? Are you trying to grow your Twitter followers? Are you looking for leads? Once you figure out who you are trying to reach and your purpose for reaching out to them you need to figure out how much money you want to spend on reaching that goal.

One thing I love about advertising on Twitter is the fact that you do not pay for broad reach, what I mean by broad reach is if I promote a Tweet using Twitter’s Promoted Tweets advertising tool I only pay if someone interacts with me through my Promoted Tweet. If someone who does not follow me but gets my Promoted Tweet in their timeline and interacts with the Tweet by doing any of the following:

  • Retweets
  • Favors
  • Replies
  • Clicks the link in the Promoted Tweet

If any of the above happens then you pay for that Tweet Engagement. What you do not pay for is if that person Retweets your Promoted Tweet and someone who follows that person interacts with that Retweeted Tweet by doing any of the following above to the Retweet, then you do not pay. In other words you only pay if the interaction is with your own Promoted Tweet that appears on your profile.

Twitter is essentially giving you free advertising even though you paid for that first Promoted Tweet, once that Tweet starts to spider web out across the Twitter-verse you are not paying unless the individuals are interacting with your actual Promoted Tweet, you do not pay for the reach of your Promoted Tweet in other words.

Twitter offers a powerful advertising tool and I do not think you will find any other social network advertising platform that offers such a great way to advertise and reach a broad audience without having to come out of your own pocket.

Also, be sure to check out the Twitter Small Business Blog or you can search on Twitter for the [#SmallGoesBig](https://twitter.com/search?q=%23SmallGoesBig&src=typd) hashtag to see how other small businesses are using Twitter to promote their brand.

How to remove a Retweeted Tweet

Have you ever Retweeted something on Twitter and regretted it? Maybe you have multiple accounts such as a personal account and a business account and you were using the wrong account when you clicked the Retweet button. The solution is simple, this will not take the Retweet back but it will keep the Tweet from showing up in your Tweet history on your Twitter profile page.
  1. Locate the Retweeted Tweet .
  2. Look for the highlighted Retweet button, the button is two green arrows.
  3. Tap the Retweet button to un-highlight it so it goes back to a gray color Retweet.

This works the exact same way across the board no matter if you are using a mobile app, a desktop app or if you are accessing Twitter via your browser.

Now it will not change the fact that whoever follows you might have seen the Retweet appear in their stream when you initially Retweeted the post but it will no longer show up on your Twitter profile page.
